Pedro earned a bachelor’s degree in Product Design from Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo in 2003. During his studies, he did an internship at Chelles & Hayashi Design, participating in prototype making, field research and the conceptualisation of electrodomestics and electronics.
After university, Pedro joined Projekta Stands and Communication as design manager, developing stand projects for international fairs in São Paulo, Barcelona and Buenos Aires.
In 2006, he was invited to join Indio da Costa Design, internationally awarded and one of the most innovative product design firms from Brazil. There, Pedro worked with professionals from different backgrounds designing from digital appliances and gym equipment to home furniture.
At the end of 2008, he moved to the field of marketing and publicity at Tátil Design. Working with point of purchase, Pedro designed material for clients such as Nokia America Latina and Philips.
With an objective to explore human behaviour and systems around users, in 2009 joined the Master programme at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, Denmark.
Back in Brazil Pedro joined Insitum strategy innovation and research as project leader and interaction designer. The focus were solutions for new products, services, and strategies based on deep understanding of people.
In 2011, as Interaction designer for the Human Computer Interaction group at Microsoft Research Asia, Pedro has helped to build a design culture. Together with researchers and developers he led and collaborated on user-centered projects, creating new design opportunities for body, face and voice recognition. He also has successfully designed and produced video scenarios that envision new contexts of use.
Pedro has a passion for video making, photography and presentation. He holds three national design awards and a iF Design Award in 2008.
